Over the years, HFM has changed substantially from being a single product to being surrounded by supporting products making up all of Hyperion Financial Close Solutions. While some of what you learned years ago in HFM Fundamentals still applies, the majority of it doesn't take into account modern architecture and best practices for using HFM, FDM, and all the related Hyperion financial products. Over the course of January, you're going to experience the most accurate and up-to-date design and optimization principles from some of the world's foremost experts in the Hyperion financial world. Join interRel's HFM and FDM experts as we teach you everything you need to know go beyond the HFM basics and become a Financial Close Solutions Guru. Tuesday, January 31: Using HFM Data in Essbase: HFM Extended Analytics and Essbase Analytics LinkWhile HFM is a great place to calculate the financials of your company, it is not the best place to analyze those financials. In this session, we'll explore multiple methods for getting data out of HFM including the traditional "Extended Analytics" and the all-new (and much better, in our opinion) "Essbase Analytics Link for HFM."
Thursday, February 2: Integrating HFM and PlanningMany companies are using HFM for actuals and Hyperion Planning for forward-looking information. In this session, we'll discuss how to integrate the two together. You'll find that your applications will be sharing metadata, numbers, users, and calculations, so we'll teach you how to reduce your maintenance and make it easier for your users to jump back and forth between Hyperion Planning and HFM. Whether you end up using ODI, FDM, DRM, HFM Extended Analytics, or Essbase Analytics Link, we'll cover best practices for making sure Planning and HFM stay in sync.
Tuesday, February 7: Introduction to Hyperion Financial Close ManagementWhile great and nearly all-powerful, HFM & FDM don't handle two significant aspects of your close process. The first of these gaps surrounds managing the entire close process from a higher-level. In this session, we'll explore the new Hyperion Financial Close Management to determine how it can make your close calendar more dynamic to reduce the days you spend on closing the books each month.
Thursday, February 9: Introduction to Hyperion Disclosure ManagementIf you pair HFM, FDM, and Financial Close Management, you still are missing one major piece for a complete financial close solution: you have no means to distribute the data externally. In this session, you'll learn about the new Hyperion Disclosure Management and how it can enable easy exporting of data in XML. Using Microsoft Word to assign tags to reports, Disclosure Management may allow you to finally stop sending checks each quarter to an XML Taxonomy Service. Come learn about Hyperion Disclosure Management and take back control of your own life.
